I stumbled across this rather fine blog the other day while surfing around t’internet. The editing seems to employ a strict shit filter with lots of original content and a good slant towards any top draw bike illustration/design/photography. Checkit. /A
Super stoked on the delivery of a Jam Factory bag of goodies, including the rather fine Death Before Derailleur T-Shirt. There is a third run of shirts about to be released so if you want one, get over to the Jam Factory Store sharpish! Nice work Gav. /A
Just spotted these tyres from the future over at our good friends Gnative. They use LED’s embedded into the tyre wall and are powered through motion sensors. For me it seems like a lot of delicate parts in a component that takes a load of abuse, but they do look pretty pimped! They are pitching them at “trend setting BMX riders and fashionable mountain bike enthusiasts” which says a lot. Whadda ya reckon? /A
Available from Elphicks on Columbia Road, London. That is all. /R
Stunning set of pictures from this years TdF can be seen over at The Big Picture. They really capture just how brutal this years tour has been so far. /A
Totally loving these posters by Nicole Lavelle and Script and Seal produced for The Portland Mercury. Get yours here. I’d love to get 3 and have them all lined up in a row. Click image to see them bigger. /R
Big thanks to Mon for my hand-sewn Champ Tee! Mon is the creative brains behind a wicked little magazine called Ala Champfest currently on sale in 14BikeCo. Theses tees aren’t available to buy yet and only for mates so I’m extra stoked she’s made me one. Check out the Champ blog here and keep your eyes peeled for Issue 2 which is very close to completion. /R
I recently attended D&AD New Blood to check out this years graduating creative talent. The work of Evgenia Barinova really caught my eye and made me smile. Originally from Russia, Evgenia is now freelance illustrating in the UK. Have a look at her portfolio site, there’ll be something on there you like. The piece pictured here is a shortlisted competition entry for Cycling in London and The Association Of Illustrators which will be exhibited in London Transport Museum 5July – 22August. Great work. /R
The first issue of Gutter Bunny is now online! My friend Nikola has out a lot of effort into the first issue and it’s really paid off with some great content. I’ve got big expectations for issue 2 now! Head over to her blog to keep an eye on all Gutter Bunny goings-on. /R
Great bit of illustration from Jamie Wieck of Airside. The Joy of Cycling was an idea pitched for “a competition devised by the Association of Illustrators and Transport for London to get London cycling”. A great take on The Joy of Sex, the illustrated sex manual by Alex Comfort, first published in 1972. I love the beards. /R
